One of the world's largest suppliers to the automotive industry
Valeo emerged from the Ferodo corporation near Paris in 1923 and has since been one of the largest suppliers to the automotive industry. The brand is considered an original equipment manufacturer. Initially, the company distributed brake pads and clutch linings of the English company Ferodo until finally an in-house production was started. In the following decades, the company extensively expanded its product range: braking systems (1961), thernal systems (1962), electronic components and systems (1963), lighting (1970), electrical systems (1978), international branches opened in Spain (1963), Italy (1964) and Brazil (1974). Today, Valeo employs 73,300 people in 28 countries around the world at 123 manufacturing sites, and has generated around 12 billion euros through sales in 2013.
Various subdivisions for continuous growth
The entire Valeo Group is divided into four different business groups which consist of nine product families: Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems (including Interior Controls and Security Systems); Powertrain Systems (with Engine Management and Electrical Systems, and Transmissions); Thermal Systems (including Climate Control, Engine Cooling Systems, and Compressors); Visibility Systems (with Wiper Systems and Lighting Systems). This range of products demonstrates the wide area of the automotive industry covered by Valeo. Due to takover of various companies and extensive development, the company joined the circle of the most important international suppliers to the automotive and commercial vehicle industry.
Valeo Services offers more than just spare parts
Despite the large scale of the company, Valeo attaches great importance to customer proximity and customer satisfaction. For example, Valeo Services was established to supply aftermarket, automotive dealers, independent garages and parts dealers with Valeo Group products in more than 100 countries around the world. All customers are kept up to date and informed about changes and developments. This creates a close relationship between the Valeo Group and all its clients.
